Bankers Fidelity Medicare Supplement

Texas Withdrawal of BFLIC Medicare Supplement

Effective October 15th, 2021, Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company is discontinuing the marketing and sale of BFLIC Medicare Supplement plans in the state of Texas.

Medicare Supplement can continue to be written in Texas through their subsidiary, Bankers Fidelity Assurance Company® – Plans A, B, F, G and N are currently available.  Any Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Company (BFLIC) Medicare Supplement applications currently in house and dated prior to October 15th, 2021 will be processed. Any application dated on or before October 15th, 2021 will be returned.

In addition to Bankers Fidelity Assurance Company®  (BFAC) Medicare Supplement, Texas’s product portfolio includes Cancer, Senior Hospital Indemnity, Short-Term Care and Final Expense.

New Aetna Dental, Vision and Hearing Plus plans now available

You’ve asked for more benefit options and Aetna has listened. We’re excited to share that Aetna now offers their new Dental, Vision and Hearing Plus insurance plans in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming.

They are not offering paper applications and are not able to accept applications by fax or by mail for these plans at this time. This is a temporary process change. For now, you can order state-specific brochures, outlines of coverage, and rate guides.

Note: These new plans are not replacing the existing Dental, Vision and Hearing plans in these states, but are an additional option available to you and your clients.

Manhattan Life Medicare Supplement
Medicare Supplement Rate Increase in Multiple States

Several states will have a rate increase effective August 1, 2021 including Alabama, Iowa, Wyoming, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. According to Manhattan Life’s guidelines: 

  • All Medicare Supplement applications signed before August 1, 2021 will receive the current rates.
  • Any Medicare Supplement application signed on or after August 1, 2021, requesting an effective date of August 1, 2021 or later, will receive the new 8-1-21 rates.
  • Any Medicare Supplement application re-dated on or after August 1, 2021 will receive the new 8-1-21 rates.
