Medicare Supplement Rate Increase in Multiple States
Several states will have a rate increase effective August 1, 2021 including Alabama, Iowa, Wyoming, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. According to Manhattan Life’s guidelines:
- All Medicare Supplement applications signed before August 1, 2021 will receive the current rates.
- Any Medicare Supplement application signed on or after August 1, 2021, requesting an effective date of August 1, 2021 or later, will receive the new 8-1-21 rates.
- Any Medicare Supplement application re-dated on or after August 1, 2021 will receive the new 8-1-21 rates.

Wyoming
- 5.0% rate increase for Plans A & G
- 4.5% rate increase for Plan F
- 4.0% rate increase for Plan N
- 0.0% for all others.
Nebraska
- 5.5% rate increase for Plans A, F & G
- 3.0% rate increase for Plan N
- 0.0% for all others.
Rhode Island
- 5.0% rate increase for Plans A F, G & N
Kansas
- 6.0% rate increase for Plans A & G
- 5.5% rate increase for Plan F
- 3.0% rate increase for Plan N
- 0.0% for all others.
Texas
- 4.0% rate increase for Plans A & G
- 3.5% rate increase for Plans F & N
- 0.0% for all others.
Oklahoma
- 5.0% rate increase for Plans A & G
- 3.5% rate increase for Plan F
- 3.0% rate increase for Plan N
- 0.0% for all others.
