How Does Senior Benefit Services Contract Agents with Carriers?
Senior Benefits Services is an independent field marketing organization (FMO) that does not require independent brokers to become captive agents.
Independent Agents vs Captive Agents
Instead, Senior Benefit Services, Inc. will help agents contract with one or multiple carriers (that the agent chooses) with our all-in-one express contracting that is completed online. Our online Express Contracting or eContracting was designed specifically by Senior Benefit Services to cover all the possible information that any carrier may request. Our eContracting allows us to complete multiple contracts without repetitively asking insurance agents for the same information. Within Senior Benefit Services’ eContracting the agent can also upload their state insurance license(s), E&O coverage, certifications, driver’s license, or anything else the carrier could require. Our eContracting eliminates the need to print, email, or fax documents so all information is submitted quickly and securely.

Once eContracting is submitted through our website a secure copy is received by members of our Contracting and Licensing Department. From there, a member of the department will begin the appointment process for each carrier the agent requests and inform them of updates every step of the way.
Not sure where to start? Reach out to one of our Marketers! – Our Marketers help establish what carrier you may want to contract with, your commission level, and any other initial questions you may have. Your Marketer will be your point of contact for your appointments.
How long does it take to get appointed?
The appointment timeframe can vary depending on each carrier. This can vary from 24 hours to 4 weeks (yes, sometimes carriers are backlogged!). Keep in mind, that some carriers do not allow agents to submit an application before their appointment request is approved by the carrier. Plan and contact Senior Benefit Services to make sure new client applications can be sent to the carrier before or while you’re being contracted.
Once the agent’s new carrier writing number is approved, a member of our Contracting and Licensing Department will reach out to confirm your new appointment and writing number. We can also order supplies for you on behalf of the carrier if you prefer to have hard copies of the needed forms.
Senior Benefit Services’ eContracting is good for 1 year!
Once eContracting has been submitted it’s valid for up to one year. This means, within that year agents can make more carrier appointment requests with us if their information hasn’t changed, versus completing the entire eContracting form again.
For compliance purposes, after one year our company will need to verify the agent’s information and new eContracting will be required for another appointment request.
