Medicare changes January 1, 2020 from the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) offers the agent the opportunity to provide clients with a new Medicare Supplement plan option. That new option is a High Deductible Plan G and this plan will be available to any individual purchasing a Medicare Supplement plan with an effective date of January 1, 2020 or later.
Effective November 15, 2019, High Deductible Plan G for effective dates of January 1, 2020 or later will be available in the following states:
- New Mexico
- Washington DC
- West Virginia
High Deductible Plan G*
- Pays the same benefits as a Plan G once the annual plan deductible is met – 2020 annual deductible is $2,340
- Does not cover the Part B deductible amount – 2020 Part B deductible is $198
- Part B deductible counts toward the annual deductible amount
*Deductibles are subject to change January 1st each year.
As of November 15, High Deductible Plan G will be available on the Medicare Supplement e-App and to quote on the Mutual mobile quote app.
The application books with the outline of coverage that includes High Deductible Plan G rates is available to order TODAY through normal channels and can be viewed and downloaded on Sales Professional Access (SPA – www.mutualofomaha.com/broker) Forms and Materials.
