Special Enrollment Period Implemented for Colorado
The state of Colorado is implementing a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) from January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
Who is eligible?
Individuals who are enrolled in a Medicare Supplement Plan C, F or High Deductible F who are residents of Colorado or move to Colorado from another state during the Special Enrollment Period are eligible. This SEP does not apply to those who become newly eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020, or to individuals who are enrolled in policies other than Plan C, F or High F.
What actions can they take?
Eligible individuals may make one change during the Special Enrollment Period. They have the option to remain in their current plan, change plans with their current insurer, or move to a plan with another insurance carrier. Current policyholders with a Plan C can enroll in a Plan D, policyholders with a Plan F can enroll in a Plan G, and those with a High F can enroll in a High G (all without underwriting, either with their current insurer or a different insurer).
When will current members be notified?
Aetna Senior Supplemental Insurance members who have a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan C, F or High Deductible F in Colorado will receive a notice starting September 21, 2020. You can view a copy of the letter here.

Applications must be received no later than June 30, 2021, for plan effective dates no later than September 1, 2021.
